reCaptcha

by Justin Alan Ryan — last modified Mar 16, 2009 03:08 AM

We finally got around to launching reCaptcha support.

Since learning about the reCaptcha service, which uses actual scanned text images of print works which are not easily identifiable by OCR software, we've been eager to integrate this as a human identification system for our CMS clients, in order to prevent spam in web forms.  This was first deployed this evening as part of PushToTest.com.

This is available by default for anything which uses the 'collective.captcha' addon, such as PFGCaptchaField for PloneFormGen, which we highly suggest.  It would be nice if this were one of a set of alternatives, as people may have preference, but for now we're confident this is the best available captcha solution.
